Job Description
The Associate Director, Customer and Market Insights (Rare Disease) will play a critical partnership role within the US Rare Disease Team. You will be a proactive thought partner for the Marketing team, responsible for driving actionable insights & deep understanding of the customer & overall market.
Specifically, this role will lead rare disease insights and analytics and be responsible for the strategic thought partnership and the development and execution of insights plans, including primary research, and analytics. You will work with the Marketing team to scope and prioritize guiding them to invest in areas of market research and analytical approaches leading to exploring opportunities in rare disease. You will also be responsible for developing holistic and integrated analytical plans to support the performance and proactively identify opportunities in rare disease.
What You’ll Do
- The Associate Director, C&MI will partner with a variety of stakeholders (Brand Marketing, Field Execution, omnichannel excellence, advanced analytics & forecasting, market access, finance, patient services, etc.) to build integrated business insights and enable a culture of data-driven decision making with high quality and impactful analyses
- Provides leadership for Customer Insights efforts, developing and deploying innovative market research techniques that reflect best practices, to develop key strategic customer insights and drive superior decision-making
- Advocate for customer needs be the “voice of the customer” through innovative approaches to understanding our patients, HCPs, their experience, treatment preference, and treatment needs.
- Ability to continuously analyze market data (i.e., market research, in-house, IQVIA, Komodo) and adjust direction/focus as needed
- Synthesizes market data to bring added value to research studies, then draws and communicates customer insights in a business-oriented, concise and meaningful way to be delivered to the business team
- Direct a strategic analysis & recommendations for the development and maintenance of key user interfaces – leads the development of key projects to develop/refine reports and/or dashboards that will be used for providing strategic insight to senior leadership for decision making.
- Develop deep analytical expertise leading and coaching junior team members and demonstrate examples of high value and impact analytics

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum 6+ years relevant experience with a biotech/pharmaceutical company or consulting firm supporting the healthcare industry
- Comprehensive understanding of biotech/pharmacy industry dynamics
- Rare disease experience
- Understands complex clinical and scientific data and is able to integrate that understanding into the brand insights
- Understands secondary data sets such as IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo
- Strong project management experience - managing projects end-to-end (Defining the business need, requesting proposals from vendors, advising on research sample, monitoring fielding, designing read out plans, synthesizing and communicating findings within the organization)
- Strong communication skills - expertise in translating analyses and research results into actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization (including senior leadership)
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Skills
- MBA preferred
- Extensive experience with patient/customer research strongly preferred
