Who we are looking for:
The Associate Director, Foundation Relations, reporting to the Director, Foundation Relations, is responsible for reporting to and working in tandem on a comprehensive program to develop potential and increased gift and grant income from the foundation sector (private foundations, public charities, community foundations, and non-profit organizations). This includes maintaining positive working relationships with foundations that are currently supporting Conquer Cancer as well as identifying and developing new relationships with foundations that have the potential to make five- and six-figure gifts. As a member of the Foundation Relations Team, they will work closely with the Director, Foundation Relations and will interface with ASCO colleagues and Conquer Cancer divisions to develop funding tactics for projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities
Work to increase revenues and participate in all aspects of the gift cycle including, but not limited to:

Managing an existing portfolio of foundation supporters with measurable outcome

Overseeing foundation prospect research efforts and engaging Conquer Cancer and ASCO leadership and staff as needed to review for possible connections

Contacting current and prospective foundation supporters through phone, email, and face-to-face visits to initiate introductions and gift solicitations

Working with senior management, volunteers, and Conquer Cancer and ASCO staff to articulate compelling proposals for support and develop relationships
-
Developing donor meeting briefings for Conquer Cancer and ASCO leadership for site visits as needed
-
Managing the writing/submission of compelling, comprehensive proposals while monitoring and adhering to deadlines

Managing the grant reporting process for supporters, including submission of interim and final reports on grants
-
Maintain accurate and timely records/contact reports of interactions with non-profit supporters and prospects using the fundraising database and shared drive

Foster collaboration with other Conquer Cancer and ASCO divisions toward achieving foundation revenue goals

Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent years of experience
-
7+ years of direct experience fundraising for non-profit or medical organizations
-
A demonstrated track record as a successful fundraiser, proven professional and collaborator
-
Proven experience in closing five and six-figure grants/gifts from the foundation sector (private foundations, public charities, community foundations, and non-profit organizations)
