The Role:
We are looking for an Associate Director, Media to join our rapidly growing team of college and youth marketing enthusiasts. As an Associate Director, Media, you will be a key member to the development of the Wasserman Next Gen media department, overseeing our differentiated offering and properties as well as managing supporting team members. The role provides an opportunity for an experienced media maven to stand up an innovative property utilizing Wasserman Next Gen's exclusive access and proprietary knowledge within the college and youth marketing segments. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and executional leadership to expand and create media opportunities within the collegiate landscape
- Develop and defend media offering differentiation from traditional media
- Develop credibility within media offering via a cohesive measurement and valuation process
- Develop best practices for database management and growth of media opportunities across university landscape
- Manage Wasserman Next Gen media team members. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight and best practice development of media inventorying
- Mentoring media plan building and execution
- Relationship management
- Reporting
- General professional development both within media and into the marketing profession
- Lead new business development for media opportunities
- Manage daily workflow of client projects and proposals to ensure timely, economic and optimized execution
- Develop solid business plans and relationships with campus contacts and third-party partners to identify and inventory media opportunities (print, digital, social, etc.)
- Collaborate with Wasserman Next Gen Client Services and University Relations teams to understand the advertising needs of each client and provide client-specific media plan while also driving value to university partners
- Ensure the development of quality client-facing reports by gathering qualitative and quantitative program data
- Contribute to agency culture by actively participating in building positive internal relationships and maintaining enthusiasm toward day-to-day tasks and agency passion points
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years’ experience in agency media planning and buying and/or media publishing
- Experience working with media attribution modeling
- Experience working within proprietary media planning tools; experience developing tools a plus
- Experience working with university media landscape a plus
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit with eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Creative thinker that is willing to travel ‘outside of the box’ for the right solution(s)
- Values and respects the importance of organization and time management for effective project execution
- Customer-service focus with outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
