As Associate General Counsel, Growth, you'll work on exciting matters that require proactive legal guidance. Reporting to the General Counsel, this position will be critical to our ability to scale Maven's unique virtual care model while adhering to applicable regulations. We need a forward-thinking, collaborative and optimistic leader who can help us solve the many complex issues that surface working across different healthcare populations while managing hyper-growth.
As Associate General Counsel, Growth, you will:
- Have primary responsibility for leading strategy, execution, and support of the growth and strategy teams, inclusive of commercial contracting, vendor management, provider agreements, and new markets. Manage legal team responsible for contracting functions measured against SLAs and key metrics
- Be responsible for coordinating with external counsel, developing project plans, and delivering key new products, inclusive a 50 state strategy to enter new markets
- Work cross functionally with the senior and executive leadership team
- Provide thoughtful counsel on risk mitigation, compliance requirements, create processes and workflows on new markets
- Manage insurance risk, including overseeing the current portfolio and obtaining additional insurance as necessary
- Support and counsel on employment matters
- Be responsible for IP management (trademark, patents, copyrights, as applicable)
- Be unfazed by ambiguity, changing priorities, and a metric drive culture
Requirements
- 10+ years of in-house legal experience, with a particular focus on the technology sector and high-growth company legal orgs
- Confidence and ability to attract/identify top talent and provide significant mentoring and advancement opportunities while driving successful results.
- Expertise in health care or similar highly regulated industries, international experience is a plus
- Demonstrated successful leadership in managing high performing senior attorneys required, including a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Excellent negotiating skills, keen analytical abilities, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, risk mitigation, as well as a track record of success in handling complex business and legal issues in a fast-paced, agile and evolving technology-driven business environment
- Ideal candidate will have a mix of law firm and in-house tech experience
- Sound and practical business judgment, intellectual creativity, and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop business solutions with effective presentation of risks and anticipated outcomes.
- High degree of curiosity, no fear of asking questions, and drive to get things done.
For candidates in NYC, CO, or CA, the salary range for this role is $235,000- $295,000 per year. You may also be entitled to receive a bonus, stock options, and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
