Job Description:
This role is an entry-level position with broad theoretical job knowledge. Position is responsible for handling security related issues for all assigned security programs. This includes execution of security functions including SAPF operations, personnel security, program support, physical security, information security, document control, badging and access control.
These duties include the implementation of 32 CFR Part 117, DoDM 5200.01 and DoDM 5205.07 volumes 1-4. and IC Directives. The Associate, Industrial Security assists with the establishment of security plans and procedures for the protection and safeguarding of National Security Information, works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, manages customer expectations in a fast-paced environment, and is knowledgeable of proper handling of classified information, information technology and information system security best practices.
Security Management
- Perform program security administrative tasks and duties to include filing documents, updating logs/lists, and coordinating with internal and external customers
- Maintain PERSEC records for SAP/SAR and SCI related programs to include the use of DISS, SIMS, JADE, and SIPRNET
- Conduct internal self-inspections and assist with Staff Assistance Visits and Customer Security Assessments
- Maintain classified material accountability records to include inventory lists, receipt and transmittal records and final disposition documentation
- Ensure all classified materials are marked and controlled in accordance with contractual requirements
- Review operational requirements, Security Classification Guidance (SCGs), and system specification documents to ensure applicable security requirements are addressed and incorporated into security processes
- Investigate and document security violations/infractions, providing recommendations for corrective actions to program personnel/management
- Develop and maintain the program's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storage, and transportation of assigned assets.
- Attend, support and participate in program meetings, staff meetings, telecons, etc.
- Physical security duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining, and changing combinations, access control systems, and alarm systems in classified environments
- Respond to walk-in customers and perform ad hoc security services as required
- Requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117, DoD 5200.01, DoDM 5205.07, OPSEC, and related security for a broad range of customers in DoD.
- Knowledge of resources and practices in the intelligence community; must be current on changing requirements.
- Knowledge of best practices in implementing physical security methods, consistent with the heightened risk environment while minimizing adverse effects on staff and visitors.
- Experience with JADE, DISS, and SIMS applications
- Ability to implement compliance programs.
