ASSOCIATE IT SPECIALIST - IT SPECIALIST - VM WARE & WINDOWS SERVER/AD SPECIALIST

Who We Are:

Operation System Support Section - Section that provides Windows support to the SwRI administrative cost centers and to technical divisions as needed. This team is also responsible for managing the VMWare virtualization environment.

Objectives of this Role:

• Support in an Enterprise environment managing Active Directory.
• Support of the VMWare virtualization environment; to include the provisioning of virtual machines, applying patches and upgrades to the VMWare environment.
• Monitoring and maintaining Windows servers and infrastructure hardware in an Enterprise environment.
• Support and maintenance of Windows technologies in use by the organization.
• Work independently, and suggest, develop, and implement new process and procedural improvements.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Maintaining existing Microsoft Windows technologies in use and other 3rd party Windows applications.
• Services include, but are not limited to, file sharing, Distributed File System, IIS web technologies, Print Services Management, and support of Configuration Manager.
• Maintain and monitor the health of the VMWare virtualization environment; to include applying patches and upgrading as necessary and provisioning virtual machines.
• Maintain Microsoft Windows servers and hardware.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors in Information Technology or related with related experience
• 1-2 years of experience, and for those without a Bachelors degree must have 5 years of professional level experience
• 1-2 years: Microsoft Windows Server administration in support of Microsoft services in an enterprise environment
• 1 year: Managing a VMWare environment at an enterprise level
• Skills should include provisioning and management of user and computer objects, management and troubleshooting of Windows technologies
• Technical Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and/or Microsoft
• Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) VMWare certifications are a plus
• Microsoft certifications relating to the support of Microsoft technologies (MCSA, MCSE) and
• VMWare preferred
• Working knowledge of Hyper-V and/or Citrix virtualization technologies is a plus
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
