The Associate Manager of Claims and Efficacy helps manage efficacy and toxicity testing performed on new products and reformulations. They will coordinate receipt + shipping of testing samples as well as advise and support Copy, R&D Chemists, Product Innovation, and Regulatory Affairs teams on all claims related topics. Finally, they will create and maintain claims related documentation such as product profiles.


What You’ll Do:

  • Review internal documents and provide feedback on claim testing feasibility to set realistic expectations.
  • Create working product profiles to guide what testing is required for each product.
  • Create final product profiles to summarize all product testing results, product attributes, and ingredient stories.
  • Research innovative ingredients for product storytelling and partner with raw material suppliers to gather required efficacy documentation.
  • Advise chemists regarding recommended usage levels of key ingredients.
  • Advise and guide Regulatory Affairs, Chemists, Copy, and Product Innovation on claims related topics.
  • Manage claims samples + applicator procurement from Packaging, Process Engineering, and/or Chemist teams for testing.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in the cosmetic or related industry
  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry or equivalent is required
  • Understanding of basic chemistry and skin biology, experimental design and data analysis
  • Knowledge of and/or hands on experience with cosmetic raw materials
  • Ability to effectively review formula’s and understand ingredients

Schedule:

  • Flex - Requires in-office presence one week per month

The target salary range for this position is $62,000 - $83,000. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus. This position is also eligible for the following benefits, including but not limited to: comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a 401(k) plan with employer matching, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts.
