As an Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer you will have the opportunity to lead design for mechanical engineering across a portfolio of ground-breaking projects in the US and globally. What would you be doing?
As a key part of the team, your responsibilities will be varied, but likely to include:
- Work closely with clients, architects, other Buro Happold engineers, and/or design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled team
- Production of coordinated detailed design drawings, specifications, written reports, site observation reports, schedules, etc on a variety off projects
- Oversee and monitor design and technical specifications from a team of mechanical engineers, ensuring output is quality reviewed
- Lead projects on behalf of the MEP group, managing project resources, client relationships and delivering high quality solutions for our clients
- Guide graduates and engineers through their professional development
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and work with Principals to secure new work for the group
- Actively work as a member of our design team, contributing ideas and innovative solutions across a variety of projects
- Ensure that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client's best interests and that Buro Happold is in keeping with current legislation and relevant regional codes of practice
What are we looking for?
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC experience
- A creative, innovative individual with an enthusiasm for leading teams to create and deliver simple, effective solutions to complex problems
- Pragmatic approach, someone who is happy to take the lead in challenging situations
- Demonstrated experience in a senior role within MEP for an architectural engineering consultancy
- Experience using Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks
- Experience using Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Bluebeam
- Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independently
- Broad Mechanical Engineering and Environmental design knowledge, from working on a wide range of US and international projects
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ideal sector experience in Cultural projects, Labs, Commercial and Higher Education
- Relevant bachelor or master degree
- PE and LEED AP accredited preferred

- Salary range of $128,000 to $180,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
