Associate Scientist - Stormwater

Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time field scientist position in our Carlsbad, CA office. Job duties for this entry level position include collecting water and sediment samples in dry and wet weather; installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment and sensors; recording of field observations and measurements; organization and preparation of equipment and supplies for monitoring; data entry and reporting. Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with focus on environmental science or engineering, biology, toxicology or similar.
• Course work or experience with surface water quality, watershed management and environmental chemistry.
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather and challenging conditions.
• Positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Environmental monitoring field experience.
• ArcGIS experience or coursework.

The selected candidate will perform assignments under the supervision of senior scientists/engineers.
