Associate– US Credit Strategist

ASSOCIATE– US CREDIT STRATEGIST (JOB NUMBER: GLO006037)


The US Credit Strategists work within the global Credit Trading Desk Analyst team.


The role entails analyzing the US credit market from a top-down perspective, developing investment views across the market (e.g. credit asset classes, sectors, ratings, curves), building analytical models, writing research notes for publication, and communicating view to institutional clients. The US credit strategists are also expected to work closely with the sector desk analysts as well as within the global credit strategy team, of which they are a critical part, developing a global view and analysis.


The strategists are expected to work in partnership with the sales and trading teams to build a very strong client franchise.

Responsibilities:

Business & Clients

  • Credit markets analysis (both macro strategy and specific sectors)
  • Disseminate timely US credit views internally and externally to guide trading desk and investor positioning
  • Internal Relationships
  • Coordinate content and delivery to clients with Sales
  • Work seamlessly with others in research, sales and trading.


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates the disciplined process required for the highest standard investment analysis.
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to build analytical models with an attention to detail
  • Capacity to quickly respond to issues under pressure in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills including proven ability to write research reports
  • Team-player who thrives on working together with colleagues and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Credit Valuation and common asset classes (Equity, Rates)
  • Ability to decipher macro events and impact on financial assets
  • Passion, tenacity and resilience in an ever changing environment

Ability to develop credit models and frameworks to

  • derive investment strategies and trade ideas
  • support risk decisions by the trading desk
  • work with sales to develop customer relationships
  • publish actionable content including reports and trade ideas

  • Series 7 & 63

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $150,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
