We are currently seeking an energetic QC Senior Manager to work in our quality control department in our Jericho, LI office.
Job Description:
This position will work alongside the Partner in Charge of Quality Control and be responsible for managing technical accounting and auditing matters in the firm. The Quality Control Senior Manager will be responsible for reviewing financial statements, assisting engagement teams with resolution of complex issues as well as mentoring staff on technical audit and accounting issues. This position will be overseeing the firms regulatory compliance for work paper reviews and will communicate new pronouncements and changes. This position also requires continuous improvements of quality control in all financial reporting services to help minimize Firm risk.
Requirements:
  • Review working papers and complex accounting transactions for completeness and accuracy
  • Implement specific proactive Firm-wide policies and concepts that continuously improve the quality of our audit and accounting practice
  • Function as a Firm resource on the research of technical issues involving complex accounting, auditing as well as other various regulatory matters.
  • Advise regarding existing or potential financial reporting or auditing issues
  • Promote and monitor compliance with regulations and ethical standards set by the Firm
  • Understand general business trends and how they relate to our client needs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA Licensure
  • 7+ years of relevant QC experience in mid-size firm
  • Candidate must have strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and standards
  • Must have had related QC experience in public accounting, and the desire to build a solid career in QC
  • Must have experience working on large engagements in a variety of industries.
  • Experience in construction, NFP or manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of independence standards and quality controls stands of the AICPA
  • Ability to research complex accounting and auditing issues as well as regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills a must
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills
