About the Role:
As a Database Administrator, you will be a key contributor to optimizing database operations, enhancing performance, and ensuring the stability and security of our data environment. You’ll be part of a highly visible team within a rapidly growing company that is innovating healthcare. You’ll take ownership of installing, upgrading, and maintaining critical database applications while actively monitoring and improving the health and efficiency of our databases. You will drive collaboration across engineering, data science, and analytics teams, providing support in data refreshes, SQL tuning, and best practices. We’re looking for a resourceful, mission-driven individual who excels in ambiguity, is biased towards action, and brings a relentless drive to solve complex challenges in healthcare. What you’ll do:
- Install, upgrade, patch, and manage database applications
- Proactively monitor the health of enterprise databases and make recommendations based on best practices to optimize performance and efficiency
- Maintain data integrity, database performance, security, stability and scalability
- Manage backup, restore, and archival procedures following enterprise backup strategy
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to database performance, job failures, replication, and service availability
- Comply with database security standards
- Provide support to developers, engineers, data analysts, data scientists, including, but not limited to data refreshes, SQL performance tuning and best practice recommendations
- Automate database administration and maintenance activities
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
- Be available for on-call support
- Analyze and document data workflow, scheduled jobs, stored procedures, packages etc.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in computer science, computer information systems, or related field
- 3-5+ years of database administration
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with one or more cloud data platforms like Azure SQL/MI, Cosmos DB, Databricks, MongoDB Atlas
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Databricks) a plus
- Working knowledge with programming or scripting languages such as Visual Basic, PowerShell, Python, SQL
- Experience configuring backups and restoring data, troubleshooting database/host performance issues, and managing/maintain a relational database management system
- Self-driven and ability to meet goals and deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Healthcare experience a plus

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position is remotely based in the U.S.
- The target pay range for this role is between $90,000 - $125,000. This salary expectation represents our national target range for this role.
