Come join us!Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Atlas, a full-service environmental and engineering consulting firm with offices nationwide, is seeking an EIR Geologist 2 for the Bartlett, TN office. The Environmental Technician will be responsible for conducting Construction projects and environmental data collection, sampling, data analysis and reporting, while ensuring the safety of themselves and others.Specific responsibilities include:• Be part of a crew removing Petroleum Underground Storage Tanks, lines, well vaults etc.• Operate Heavy Equipment from time to time, (Skid Steer, and Backhoe etc.)• Collect, record, and tabulate field geologic and hydrogeological data;• Perform routine soil, air, and groundwater sampling;• Operate light equipment including calibration and operation of environmental meters;• Prepare clear, complete field notes to document field activities;• Utilize monitoring equipment;• Direct and oversee soil boring advancement to investigate hydrogeologic subsurface conditions, including logging of soil and rock samples;• Follow policies and procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly;• Adapt to changes in the work environment;• Consistently at work and on time;• Follow instructions and responds to direction;• Long hours of work when necessary to reach goals;• Complete tasks on time;• Undertake self-development activities.RequirementsMinimum Requirements:• HS Diploma or Equivalent required• Preferred: 2- or 4-year physical sciences degree, (e.g., geology, biology, chemistry, or environmental science);• Adherence to Atlas Health and Safety Policies during all activities;• Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity for repeatedly lifting and moving objects as much as 75 pounds; stooping, bending, and climbing;• Valid US driver's license and ability to pas MVR• Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hr. Training and Annual Refresher preferred;• Knowledge of, and experience with, groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling procedures;• Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and ability to read and interpret written information;• Able to communicate and work constructively with others;• Demonstrates attention to detail;• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks;• Communicates clearly and effectively with others;• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency, and ability to prepare graphs in Excel.• Knowledge of TDEC regulations preferredOther miscellaneous qualities:• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.• Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time.• Valid Driver’s License.• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe mannerBenefits:Atlas offers a comprehensive benefit program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
