We’re just built to be better. We are a great company.We are seeking a Field Geologist to support projects for electric utility and solid waste landfill clients. The position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToThe Field Geologist will be responsible for soil and rock descriptions in unconsolidated and bedrock deposits. The successful candidate must prepare boring logs, document monitoring well construction details and other field generated data,and collect soil and groundwater samples using a variety of equipment under varying field conditions. The Field Geologist will compile data, generate groundwater statistics results, and prepare permitting and compliance reports. The Field Geologist must be able to work on multi-day out-of-town projects at client facilities.RequirementsMinimum Requirements:• Ability to work out-of-town for extended periods up to 70% of the work year• Ability to work cooperatively with drilling crews, field staff, and Atlas’s landfill practice team• Ability to assist on landfill construction quality assurance projects• BS in Geology or Hydrogeology• MS in Geology or Hydrogeology preferred• 0 – 4 Years Experience• Ability to collect groundwater and surface water samples• Ability to compile and interpret hydrogeological data and prepare reportsTechnical Requirements• Prepare clear, organized, detailed, and accurate boring logs and well diagrams• Operate field water quality meters and groundwater sampling equipment• Familiarity with USDA soil descriptions beneficial• Experience with groundwater monitoring, assessment, and corrective action statistics beneficial• Clear, detailed, well organized technical writing• Demonstrated technical and quantitative aptitudeOther Miscellaneous Qualities• Experience/Training in Environmental Field Sampling and Testing Methods beneficial• 40 Hour HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour updates preferred, will train if needed• Excellent communication skills• Positive, team-oriented approach• Commitment to project objectives• Self-motivated, Resourceful, Shows Initiative• Conscientious attention to working efficiently and safelyBenefitsAtlas offers a comprehensive benefit program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
