The Attorney Training & Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Attorney Training & Development.

The Attorney Training & Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of the department’s firmwide attorney training functions, including the summer associate academy, fall orientation, mid-level and counsel academies, partner training, and practice group trainings.
The Attorney Training & Development Coordinator will reside in the Washington, DC office with hybrid work capabilities and is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors, and business staff, and to maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Coordinate and plan firmwide attorney development programs including academies and other training programs organized by the department. Responsibilities include liaising with attorneys and other business departments, preparing materials and communications, and managing other logistics.
- Coordinate and plan practice group trainings in collaboration with the Practice Management department. Responsibilities include liaising with attorneys, the practice management department, and the IT team, preparing materials and communications, and managing other logistics.
- Learn and become a knowledgeable resource for the Attorney Recruiting & Development department in ViDesktop CLE/Training database.
- Learn and develop a working knowledge of CLE rules and procedures to provide support to the CLE Administrator. Responsibilities can include entering training programs, license information, and CLE credits into ViDesktop and state CLE databases, managing the post-program logistics such as video recording uploads into ViDesktop CLE/Training database, and monitoring and managing the FirmCLE email account.
- Assist with managing the department’s budget and reviewing monthly budget reports.
- Some travel is required to provide on-site support for firmwide training programs and academies.
- Actively participate in Attorney Recruiting & Development department meetings and share recommendations for improvement and solutions.
- Actively participate in firmwide Attorney Recruiting & Development department projects.
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, and other appointments as needed.
- Serve as liaison to respond to various departmental questions or requests.
- Additional tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 2+ years of related training & development, recruiting, and/or program coordination experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services setting
- Self-starter with strong initiative and project management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, facilitate solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned in a professional manner
- Demonstrates close attention to detail
- Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, office and firm management, and vendors
- Ability to communicate with attorneys and business staff in an effective manner
- Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within the team
- Good judgment and professional maturity including the ability to manage confidential information with the utmost discretion
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability and willingness to learn new software and operating systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
