Audio Producer, Playbook

POLITICO is seeking an Audio Producer to join the fast-paced team that produces the Playbook Daily Briefing, our daily politics podcast. You keenly follow politics and relish the inner workings of the Capitol, White House, and wider D.C. You’re passionate about delivering the insider insights that our audience of Washington influencers needs to start their day. You have the creative vision and technical skills to bring the personalities and obsessions of the Playbook community to life. You will work collaboratively with Playbook authors and editors, and also have scope to push creative boundaries within the audio medium.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong news judgment, and a deep familiarity with DC politics
  • Experience working in audio DAWS preferred
  • Experience working in politics is a plus
  • Ability to work out of our headquarters in Rosslyn, VA

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with the executive producer of audio, Playbook authors, editors, producers, and the wider audio team to produce a 5X week show of 5-8 minutes in length
  • Complete bookings and logistics
  • Write scripts, develop timely topics, edit and publish the show
  • Actively participate in the production process, which takes place Sunday through Thursday evenings
