Unilever is looking for an Automation Technician at its Raeford NC facility. This position will drive the factory safety performance of the entire factory (all shifts, all areas) into a proactive culture using WCM operating framework.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Plan layout, fabricate, install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of complex electrical and electronic equipment. Develop small projects to improve equipment/ process safety, quality and efficiency, working with a wide variety of complex electrical and electronic equipment. Provide technical knowledge and training, troubleshooting ability and resident knowledge of advanced technology systems (PLC systems). Develop PLC programming and direct and organize project activities. In this position the employee will work in different areas with different equipment such as:
Packing Lines: Palletizer, Filler, Bundler, Capper, Sleever, Coder, Labeler, Case Packer, Case Erector, Pucker-Depucker, Pumps, etc..
Compounding: Mixers, Pumps, Pipes, Hydraulics, Ventilation, Flow/Pressure/Temperature Transmitters, etc..
Facilities: Steam Related Equipment, Boiler, HVAC, compressed air, Pipes, etc…
Interpret data, identify problems, and formulate proper decisions
Ability to understand interaction of equipment and systems, and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems
Ability to understand interaction of equipment and systems, and diagnose and repair electrical problems
Express ideas clearly (verbal and written) and ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, work orders and specification
Ability to generate and analyze reports charts and KPI’s dealing with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Ability to change and develop PLC programs
Implement Projects/ Improvement (electrical project/ PLC programming) to accommodate new product and/ or improve safety, operational quality and productivity
Diagnose/ test PLC and Instrumentation problems, Diagnose/test equipment to correct malfunctions and makes improvement to accommodate new product and/or improve safety, operational quality and productivity
Perform Preventive, Corrective, Planned or Breakdown Maintenance/Calibration on equipment
Perform Breakdown Analysis or other Analysis tool to identify root cause for repetitive breakdowns or other losses
Train Maintenance team in new technology
Develop other WCM activities such as: Autonomous Maintenance in Workshops, Lead FI teams or develop new activities as assigned
Responsible for following GXP. This includes but is not limited to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
All other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent; higher degree in related area is desirable
3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance related position is required
Working knowledge of PLCs is a must
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
