Workday - Senior Consultant, HCM & Core Compensation Lead

Avaap is seeking an experienced HCM & Core Compensation Lead to join our growing team as a Workday Senior Consultant. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading Workday implementations, with a focus on the HCM and Core Compensation modules, and a proven track record in the Higher Education and/or Government industries.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead Implementation Projects: Oversee and drive the end-to-end implementation of Workday HCM and Core Compensation solutions, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
  • Consult and Advise: Provide expert guidance to clients on best practices, system configuration, and optimization strategies specific to Workday HCM and Core Compensation.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions that align with their organizational goals.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Solution Design: Develop and document comprehensive solution designs, leveraging your deep knowledge of Workday HCM and Core Compensation functionalities.
  • Training and Support: Conduct client training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure successful adoption and utilization of Workday solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of Workday updates and industry trends to continuously enhance our service offerings and maintain thought leadership in the field.

Desired Experience and Skills 

  • Workday Certification: Must be Workday HCM and Workday Core Compensation certified (REQUIRED).
  • Implementation Experience: Proven experience leading Workday HCM and Core Compensation implementations, with a strong understanding of system configuration, integration, and reporting.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in Higher Education and/or Government industries is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, manage complex projects, and deliver exceptional client outcomes. Ability to autonomously lead learning workstream through all project phases (discovery-production)
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and address client needs effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Client-Centric Approach: A strong focus on client satisfaction and the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
  • Requirements Gathering: Gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, testing and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Communications: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectations
  • Desired Background: Expert-level knowledge and experience in HR practices and functions. Academic studies or equivalent education/professional experience combination in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Human Resources Information Systems or related field. A detailed-driven problem solver, with a passion for delivering exceptional levels of customer service. Resourceful and adaptable; you’ll be comfortable working remotely, utilizing a variety of tools with a high degree of autonomy


Pay Transparency
Compensation for roles at Avaap varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific business unit, team, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Avaap provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
• Base Salary Range is $110,000 to $152,000 plus 20% variable compensation is available for this specific role. At Avaap it is not typical to be hired at the top of the base salary range.
*During the interview process, alignment to level will be determined and should level differ from position applied for, a new compensation range will be provided for the appropriate role.

Minimum Qualifications
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively
• Must be able to perform work indoors and remain stationary at a computer 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Passion for exceptional customer service and collaboration
• Ability to work remotely or out of one of Avaap’s physical office locations
• Current permanent U.S. work authorization required
