Direct the vision, strategy, and global EHS execution plan for Materials Group by collaborating and educating regional and cross functional teams.
Guide and influence internal business leaders on global regulatory and company specific EHS requirements.
Link key EHS initiatives to AOP capital planning and budgeting process.
Oversee EHS risk analysis process and communicate/manage results to mitigate risk.
Manage interactions with EHS regulatory agencies (regional & site level).
Advocate for effective legislation, legislation, regulations and industry standards that will proactively manage EHS impacts to operations, the community and the environment.
Verify that corporate EHS compliance audits are resolved in a timely manner and that proactive facility level self inspection and assessment processes are current in order to drive continuous improvement (100% compliance, 100% of the time).
Collaborate and act as liaison with Global Risk.
Develop/mentor regional EHS leaders to enhance technical and leadership skill sets, provide Global Performance System (GPS) input for performance management, develop succession plan for EHS talent, and support the hiring process for regional/facility level EHS professionals.
Regularly communicate EHS performance to the business unit and corporate VP of EHS.
Manage EHS aspects of emerging issues (product development, acquisitions/divestitures, regulatory changes, etc.) and changing business strategies.
Participate as an active member of the corporate Global EHS Leadership Team to support the development of corporate strategies, standards, programs and processes that drive standardization and consistency.
Undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, occupational safety, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of twelve (10) years safety experience in a manufacturing environment. EHS related certifications are a plus (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
Strong leadership skills, able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Ability to travel as required at least 25% of the time.
