DBIA Taxonomist
Location – Austin, Texas
The Digital Business Intelligence and Analytics (DBIA) group at large Technologies company is looking for a Taxonomist to fulfill the creation, maintenance, and governance of taxonomies as well as manage the attributes associated with them. Stakeholders include the taxonomy governance group, ontology governance group, product management group, taxonomists, ontologists, system owners, business unit stakeholders and IT developers. It is expected that this role will have a heavy communications component including education.
As a Taxonomist, this person fulfills the following taxonomy roles: Subject Matter Expert, Advocate, Stakeholder Requirements Gatherer, Agreement Facilitator, Project Manager, Educator, Consultant.
Must Have – Natural Language Processing (NLP), Graph databases, taxonomies
Good to have – PoolParty, TopQuadrant Edge, GraphDB Ontotext
Essential Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in taxonomy management and governance in a large organization.
• Proven record of creating taxonomies from business requirements.
• Experience researching, identifying, and documenting requirements, as well as enforcing standards, agreements, and charters.
• Understanding of knowledge content management and development, as well as search and retrieval tools.
• Basic understanding of semantic ontologies.
• Familiar with NLP engines.
