Backend Developer II

The Backend Developer will develop, implement, and maintain applications in support of the marketing efforts of Monster Energy. This position is responsible for the development and release of web applications for both customer use and internal corporate use, as well as contributing to all aspects of the product development and release cycle. This includes translating requirements into a technical specification for architecting, coding, testing, maintaining, and enhancing applications as necessary.

The desired applicant will be a technically strong disciplined self-starter interested in working in a busy and dynamic environment where quality, attention to detail, and customer service are essential values. Experience with .NET (Core), SQL, MVC, Web API, and object-oriented software design principles are essential. Demonstrated experience extending content management systems and/or developing tools for information retrieval systems is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Define objectives by analyzing requirements and envisioning application features and functionality.
  • Prepare technical designs, write code, perform debugging and unit testing.
  • Clearly organize your code and comment where necessary, to facilitate the peer review process.
  • Troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of existing application architectures.
  • Stay industry current and consistently abreast on new technologies and changes/deprecations to existing tool sets by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer-science (or related technical field) preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years client/server application development experience with significant exposure to object oriented web application development and SQL Server database architecture and design.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS SQL Server, SQL stored procedures, indexing and database optimization concepts with ability to develop highly scalable/maintainable applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including, C#, .Net Core 2+, MVC, and API driven projects required.
  • Experience with Angular, React, Backbone, Amber, or other frontend framework required.
  • Experience with Git required.
  • Experience developing Content Management System (CMS) based websites a plus.
  • Experience using the Atlassian Suit of products (Jira, Bam boo, Stash, and Confluence) a plus.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment/Scrum team.
  • Experience writing shared and reusable components of code.
  • Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working successfully with high-profile strategic partners.
  • Experience integrating with 3rd party payment gateways and 3rd party API’s preferred.
  • Proven ability to complete all phases of software development life cycle including analysis, functionality, testing and support.
  • Outstanding grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Must be focused, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, continually changing environment
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple schedules and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A proven ability to take initiative and be proactive.
  • Extremely attentive to details.

PAY RANGE: $74k - $100k
