CASTING CALL – PILOT EPISODE “CEDAR LAKE” Non-Union | Unpaid | Pittsburgh, PA Area | Shoots May 23 – June 2 Project Title: Cedar Lake Logline: A year after her brother’s mysterious death, Olivia reunites with her fractured friend group for one last summer at Cedar Lake. But when an old letter resurfaces and a former friend returns, the truth they’ve all tried to bury begins to surface—along with the guilt they hoped to leave behind. Series Pitch: CEDAR LAKE is a deeply emotional and atmospheric coming-of-age drama told over the course of one summer. Each episode spans a single week at camp, capturing the hazy rhythm of bonfires, midnight swims, secret hookups, and slowly unraveling truths. After the loss of her brother Tobin, Olivia refuses to believe it was suicide. Determined to uncover the truth, she enlists her two best friends—overachieving Meg and chaotic Brady—and pressures Tobin’s old friend Xander to return. But their investigation stirs up a past they’ve all tried to forget: hidden relationships, quiet betrayals, and a letter that was never meant to be read. The show weaves present-day camp life with flashbacks to the summer Tobin died, gradually revealing how each of these characters was complicit in what happened—and what they’ll do to keep it buried. More than a mystery, Cedar Lake is a story about grief, guilt, identity, and the intensity of teenage friendships when life still feels like it’s just beginning. The camp becomes both a retreat and a crucible—forcing each character to confront who they were, who they are, and who they’re becoming. SEEKING: BRADY – Male, Over 18 to play 17. Charming, sharp-witted, and quietly observant. Brady is the kind of guy who knows how to deflect with a joke, but there’s more going on beneath the surface. Loyal to a fault, and still haunted by what happened last summer. ALLY – Female, Over 18 to play 19. The oldest in the group and the band’s lead singer. Even if she’s not the most technically gifted, Ally loves performing and puts her whole heart into it. She’s artistic, perceptive, and often feels like the only one who sees the cracks forming beneath the surface. There’s a quiet maturity to her, and while she may not say everything she notices, she definitely knows something’s going on.
