Backup & Recovery Engineer 30% REMOTE

Role Summary

The customer has their own backup & recovery solution team. This role would be/become a Cohesity SME that is very consultative in guiding the end-customer on how to gain Cohesity support. They will provide training, be supportive of their needs, and guide them how to get what they need. Automation is also a huge part of the end-customer’s environment. Think of this role as the coach for the customer team — they won’t do the job for them, but will help them understand how to get things done.

The ideal person to fill this role will have experience such as:

Technical skills:

• Senior backup & recover engineer (experience on multiple platforms – Cohesity experience not a requirement)
• Experience as a dedicated backup and recovery engineer for 5+ years
• Vast database SQL knowledge as it relates to backup and recovery
• Vast database Oracle knowledge as it relates to backup and recovery
• Extensive knowledge in scripting – Python experience a plus
• Experience working with Automation
• Hands on experience with Linux, networking, and API

Soft Skills:

• Ability to learn quickly
• Excellent communication skills
• Consultative in nature
  • Ability to empower the end-customer to get what they need
  • Coaching them to understand proper points of engagement and not allowing the end-customer to consume large amounts of your time
• Accountability by taking ownership
• Following up as needed for tasks related to overall solution
• Ability to adapt to customer’s process and use of Cohesity

• Onsite Requirement: A minimum of 3 days a week on site
• Location: Downtown Houston, TX
• Duration: 12 Months – likely to renew multiple years
