Job DescriptionBAE Systems Integrated Defense Solutions (IDS) business is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst specializing in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) to support both internal research and development projects and the delivery of innovative DoD customer solutions. The position will be central in the refinement and execution of the company s Data Centricity technology roadmap to advance our strategic position to win business, disrupt competition, and accelerate successful execution of customer mission objectives. The selected individual will play a crucial role in analyzing large datasets to derive valuable insights and develop predictive models using advanced machine learning techniques. You will collaborate closely with other data scientists, engineers, and customer stakeholders to deliver actionable solutions that enhance our products and services.IDS is a Business Area within the Intelligence & Security (I&S) sector of BAE Systems Inc. This position will report directly to the IDS Lead Software Engineer and will be a member of the IDS innovation team. The role will be based at one of our BAE regional offices and may require travel to customer locations.Specific responsibilities of this position include but not be limited to:- Explore and analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies to inform both customer and business decisions- Develop and deploy machine learning models for various applications such as predictive analytics, recommendation systems, and anomaly detection- Extract and engineer features from raw data to optimize model performance and accuracy- Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and refine models to improve accuracy and efficiency- Create visualizations and dashboards to present findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders- Formally document the algorithms, models, procedures, and configurations within the IDS engineering processes- Provide insights and recommendations that inform key decision-making processes that advance the company s strategic position to win business, disrupt competition, and accelerate successful execution of customer mission objectivesRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related technical fieldMinimum of six years experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with a focus on applying AI/ML techniques to real-world problemsProficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and machine learningStrong understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental designExperience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, scikit-learnFamiliarity with data manipulation and query languages such as SQL, PandasKnowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create informative dashboardsUnderstanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GPS) and their AI/ML servicesStrong intellectual and analytical capabilities coupled with pragmatic problem-solving skillsStrong communications & influencing capabilities, a robust strategy & change management toolkit, and a passion to deliver innovative solutionsCollaborative work style with the ability to effectively interact with and earn the trust of peers and senior management across the organizationPreferred Education, Experience, & SkillsPost graduate degreeKnowledge and experience working in the DoD technical services industryExperience in proposal development and processesPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
