Job DescriptionBAE Systems Intelligence & Security is seeking a part-time Product Support Engineer to support the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). BAE Systems' SSP team provides support to our country's most important nuclear deterrent program, the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Program. Join us in ensuring continued exceptional Product Support for the current Strategic Weapons System (SWS) and future weapon system development, production and deployment. As a Product Support Engineer, you will:• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Product Support Branch including program logistics and sustainment integration, status tracking, meeting support, cost control monitoring, and integrated master schedule (IMS) management.• Work with a team of internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute logistics and product support efforts across systems and subsystems, as well as ensure weapon system sustainment strategy and plans meet the mission requirements.• Provide expert acquisition advice and support to Program leadership on all Product Support Elements (PSEs) and integration of efforts between the government program office, prime contractors, and various government support agencies.• Contribute and help lead a cohesive and integrated team responsible for supporting weapon logistics, material support, and sustainment planning across all systems and subsystems to effectively plan for all PSE requirements.• Document and maintain the Product Support Strategy in support of the Strategic Weapon System and related subsystems.• Candidate will be expected to lead and support internal and external meetings with the purpose to communicate and provide status to the team and program, to provide guidance to the team, and to take actions to work through issues the Weapons Systems team may identify.Job TitleProgram Logistics Mgr IIPostal Code20850Job FamilyProgram Logistics SupportTravel Percentage10%Clearance Level – Must be able to obtain for positionSecretShift1st ShiftRegular or TemporaryRegularTypical Education and ExperienceTypically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and EducationMinimum education and years of related/relevant professional work experience required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics) with minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project/program management (8 years with advanced degree).Additional skills/experience required:• Experience leading or managing teams/programs and progressing DoD programs/systems through Acquisition, Production, or Sustainment Phases• Candidate should be an agile thinker and executor of Product Support Management for the DoD; ability to move between strategic planning and program implementation by interacting with multiple disciplines, audiences, and stakeholders; strong understanding of the PSEs• Risk management experience; demonstrated management experience evaluating and mitigating risk at the program or enterprise level• Strong personnel and task management skills, self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communications skills in addition to sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordination and negotiating with the customer to help define strategic vision, plan at an operational level, and implement tactical customer guidance with minimal day-to-day direction• Customer-oriented and always trying to anticipate the customer’s needs and work hard to exceed their expectationsPreferred Skills and Education• Experience in planning and/or execution of sustainment activities for a Navy/DoD program(s) or experience integrating product support/logistics requirements across a program• Experience with developing key logistics and product support documents, including Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, training plans, and maintenance plans• Familiarity with DoD acquisitions activities in accordance with DoD Directive 5000.01 and DoD Instruction 5000.02, as well as any other relevant U.S. law, DoD, or other Service Component directives, policies, instructions, or guides• Integrated Logistics Support experience within the DoD• Previous SSP / Strategic Weapon Systems experience• Familiarity with creating/managing/maintaining program activities within an integrated master schedule using programs such as Primavera or Microsoft Project; experience managing cost, schedule, and performance for a program or programs• Experience with program management of major ACAT programs• PMP CertificationAbout BAE Systems Intelligence & SecurityBAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of BAE Systems plc, an international defense, aerospace and security company which delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.
