Product Ops - Data Manager

What You'll Do

As a Data Manager in Product Operations, you would oversee data collection, organization, and analysis to improve product performance. You would design data management systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and generate reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement. Your expertise in data management would enable product managers to make informed decisions, drive innovation, and enhance user satisfaction. By leveraging data, you would contribute to revolutionizing workplace efficiency and achieving the organization's mission.

What will you be doing?

  • Use Product Data Proactively to monitor Product heath and raise red flags on areas of the product that are underperforming. 
  • Product Owner of Pendo (product analytics tool) to help administer, document, collect, and enable the product team with Pendo data and collaborate with CX and Data partners on guides, track events, and other data features.
  • Define the key Metrics to track success or prioritize features 
  • Translate requirements of large data initiatives into smaller actionable items
  • Champion data literacy within the organization and drive adoption rates 
  • Track product usage to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience building and executing on product data strategy
  • Experience with Pendo (including administration)
  • Working with Data Partner and FP&A to maintain the product data request process.
  • Work with Product Managers to help build KPIs and understand the impact of product launches.
  • Use Product Data Proactively to monitor Product heath and raise red flags on areas of the product that are underperforming.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • You feel aligned with the BambooHR values
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Data Manager or Analyst 
  • Extensive experience with Pendo or another product analytics tool: A strong background and deep expertise in working in a product analytics and user feedback platform is essential. This includes proficiency in setting up and configuring Pendo, utilizing its features for data collection and analysis, and leveraging its capabilities to drive product improvements and user satisfaction.
  • Data Management and Analytics Skills: A solid understanding of data management principles, including data collection, organization, cleansing, and validation, is important. Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, or R is often required. Additionally, experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is beneficial.
  • Product Operations Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of product operations, including product development processes, product lifecycle management, and key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the industry, is crucial. Familiarity with product management methodologies and frameworks is also desirable.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills are necessary to interpret data collected through Pendo and other sources, identify trends, and derive actionable insights. Data Managers should be adept at applying critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to address complex business challenges and optimize product performance.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and analysts. Data Managers should be able to clearly communicate data insights and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Attention to Detail and Data Governance: Data Managers must have a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity, especially when working with Pendo data. They should also have knowledge of data governance principles and be familiar with data privacy regulations to ensure compliance.
  • You have deep experience working with qualitative customer insights and quantitative customer data to inform decisions.
  • You’re entrepreneurial; you don’t need direction

  • You’re able to switch between thinking creatively and analytically

Work Environment

  • Lindon, Utah - Hybrid (2 days/week in-office)
