Regional Category BuyerProcurement in Marketing Research, Subscriptions, Consulting, Trade Shows and Support overflow of MarComHybrid 3 days on site, 2 days remotelyWe are looking for a Regional Category Buyer to join our GP team in RTP.Come create chemistry with us!The Regional Category Buyer (RCB) will be based in RTP, supporting all divisions within North America with a high concentration of the work focused on the Agricultural Solutions business. The RCB will be responsible to update and develop category strategies, providing regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics. Will routinely engage with the associated business units and suppliers to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for new and existing projects relating to Marketing research, subscriptions, consulting, trade shows and overflow of MarCom related projects. RCB will monitor SAP queue to release purchase orders, run reports in SAP and work with Master Data, performing analysis and data management to help develop strategies on upcoming negotiations.As a Regional Category Buyer, you create chemistry by...• Supporting the development of Category specific supply strategies for North America focusing on the Agricultural Solutions business. Working closely with the business unit and the Procurement network to develop and implement sourcing strategies for products related to this category. Maintaining a list of contracts, supplier contacts, services, price information to provide support for all divisions and contracts within the different databases.• Developing expertise as a subject matter expert, leading and managing sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key strategic contracts and highly complex negotiations to ensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF by working with the business and legal and related departments. Identifying and leverage cross-category optimization efforts on behalf of internal stakeholders, in collaboration with other Category Buyers.• Pro-Actively utilizing the tools provided to develop align with internal stakeholders on upcoming renewals and develop negotiation strategy. As well as monitoring performance metrics, resolving claims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing of products procured.• Identifying and leveraging opportunities to streamline internal processes with a focus on enabling speed to market, especially for the Agricultural Solutions business. Driving topics such as Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), the achievement of agreed targets/KPI’s as well as the proactive identification of savings.• Collaborating with all areas of BASF (Operations, Legal, Risk Management, IT/IS, Accounting, EHS, Tax, etc.) and all levels of BASF (Hourly to Sr VPs), global and regional to assist with Contract negotiations.If you...• Hold a Bachelor's degree and Professional background in Procurement, Supply Chain, engineering/Operations, Sales and/or Marketing.• Have at least 5 years of experience in Procurement, or related positions.• Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to provide relationship management for key suppliers.• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage across the business.• Possess computer skills, MS Office, SAP knowledge and procurement tools.• Showcase contract skills to interact with our Legal department.Create your own chemistry with you@BASFAt BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
