As an individual contributor, the main focus of the position is to support the development, registration and manufacture of new products and formulations for Crop Protection and advise on their use to broaden the market and increase business results.As a Senior Research Scientist, Analytical Chemist, you create chemistry by...• Developing and implement detailed, often complex, analytical R&D programs consistent with approved business cases for active ingredients and formulations.• Lead and assist in designing and executing analytical procedures for both Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and non-GLP analysis of active ingredients and formulation inerts• Developing and validate analytical methods to acquire, interpret and report the necessary data to advance the formulation development program and satisfy global regulatory requirements.• Liaising closely with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Biology, Regulatory, Operations and the global team to understand business needs and determine the best analytical development path forward.• Communicating status of analytical development and projects through technical reports, presentations, and documents for regulatory submission• Providing technical and commercial support for after-market launches to resolve product performance issues that might affect company relations with customers or regulatory agencies.• Utilizing existing and implement new analytical technologies within a development program to foster innovation across the analytical and formulation community.• Participating in the scale-up and launch of the developed products by transfer of analytical know-how to Regulatory and Manufacturing as part of Product Launch ExcellenceIf you have...• Ph.D. in a scientific discipline such as chemistry or biology, plus 2 years of practical industrial experience in an R&D environment; or MS with 6 years of industrial experience; or BS with 8 years industrial experience• Analytical Development and Product Characterization experience, preferably in Crop Protection (related industries are acceptable)• Thorough knowledge of analytical technologies in Separation Science including GC, GC/MS, HPLC, and HPLC/MS.• Experience working in a GLP environment and knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g. EPA, OECD, EU, IBAMA, SANCO, CIPAC etc.)• Proven ability to lead, plan, coordinate, and complete analytical projects on difficult problems with cross-functional teams.• Track record of generating innovation and application of cutting-edge technology• Serious safety focus, attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills• Proficient computer skills and experience using various IT systems and databases relevant to analytical technology (Chemstation, OpenLab, EZChrom, etc.)Create your own chemistry with you@BASFAt BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
