Reporting to the Sr. Director Sales Training, this person will be accountable for the development, implementation and delivery of training strategies, plans, programs, and processes to support Bausch + Lomb Surgical business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, R&D and Sales to identify training needs, align on solutions to design & execute training content on the r B+L Surgical portfolio of products. Including but not limited to Intraocular lenses, OVD’s, Stellaris Elite, instruments, and accessories.
• Plan, organize and facilitate all Phases of new hire training and on-going development.
• Collaborate daily with current B+L Surgical Training Managers and team.
• Communicate frequently & partner with Field Sales Trainers on new hire onboarding, facilitating classes, aligning training calendar content and ongoing training programs.
• Co-travel (2x per quarter) with new and current sales personnel to assess, coach and develop their level of product knowledge and related skills.
• Train to tools and programs for representatives and customers to identify, develop and drive opportunities to maximize the promotion of Advanced Technologies to their patients.
• Work with field team to develop skills around - Ophthalmic clinic management and practice staff practice tools and patient education resources.
• Identify, design, create and facilitate effective content that improves the desired competency level of sales representatives.
• Responsible for coaching, developing, and utilizing the Field Sales Trainers in on-boarding new hires and in all training programs.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze performance gaps and develop training initiatives to drive results.
• Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices, and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
• Be a product expert on all promoted anterior and posterior products and the competition.
• Assist in creating a measurement strategy and sustainability process before and after programs/initiatives.
• Utilize and promote digital tools to enhance sales activities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years selling/supporting Ophthalmologists with proven results
• Practice management and business development experience in optometry and/or ophthalmology
• Desired previous training experience, corporate and/or field-based is required or completion of a formal training development program.
• Desired experience in training surgical representatives’ procedures associated with cataract procedures.
• Solid understanding of the referral pathway for cataract surgery.
• A willingness to collaborate and work within dedicated team, wear multiple hats, and approach projects/initiatives with a sense of urgency.
• Strong verbal, listening, written communications and facilitation skills both live & virtual is required
• Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed.
• Ability to serve as a role model/mentor/coach to field representatives.
• Potential up to 50% travel
