Become a maker of possible with us.Business objectives include achieving/surpassing financial targets in the US region via direct management responsibility for 8 Sales Specialists in the US Region. In this role the Director of Sales must have a keen understanding of the macro-economic environment that the scM team operates within to help develop strategy for the scM business and collaborate proactively to ensure US Region marketing initiatives, pricing, commercial excellence, and business development strategies and tactics are aligned. The Director of Sales will also be responsible for establishing relationships within key accounts to develop a network of Key Opinion Leaders to cultivate relationships and further partnerships with BDB scM.The Director of Sales, Single Cell Multiomics reports directly to the Senior Director, Global Sales Single Cell Multiomics (scM) and is responsible for the scM business in the US region.The Director of Sales role requires strong collaboration with both the global scM partners and other BDB flow cytometry sales leaders within the US region. The Director of Sales routinely interfaces with cross functional team resources including: Platforms, Marketing, Service, Customer Support, Finance, Sales Operations and Applications.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Drive execution of platform portfolio strategy to achieve/surpass revenue and profit growth targets for the US Region scM platform• Hire, develop, and retain a team of high performing individuals made up of Sales Specialists. Accountable for the direction, coaching, and feedback for scM team.• Partner with the Senior Director Global Sales leader to determine appropriate compensation programs that aligns priorities, motivates effective behavior, and rewards achievement• Effectively partner and collaborate with Product Managers, Customer Service Supervisors and Sales Administration/Operations• Demonstrate technical credibility to advise key account customers on end-to-end solutions• Collaborate with Marketing to create short-term and long term direction and strategies for the business platform and enhance messaging and positioning• Handle sales and business processes including sales forecasting, demand planning, pipeline management, and sales tracking• Develop and maintain current knowledge of markets, products, and buying process in the immunology, immuno-oncology, and genomics markets• Continually monitor and ensure proper communication of relevant market trends to update senior executives relative to customer behaviors and market landscape• **Up to 70% travel expected***PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:• B.S. in a Life Sciences field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and/or Master’s degree preferred.• 10+ years demonstrated ability/proven track record in capital equipment + disposable sales including 5+ years of managerial experience leading a minimum of ten individuals• Market expertise either in genomics or immunology applications with a preference towards the scM cell sequencing• Practical industry and laboratory experience using applications such as next generation sequencing, sample and library preparation for NGS, digital PCR, qPCR assays or cell analysis technologies such as flow cytometry• Strong commercial and financial savvy• Experience cultivating KOL relationships• Leadership courage and agility in leading problem resolution• Strategic agility• Leadership credibility and followership• Experience influencing and connecting multiple decision makers• Critical thinking, analytical and implementation skills (ability to translate data into useful tactics and strategies)ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:• 10+ year proven track record demonstrating sales success• 5+ year track record of people leadership and talent development• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Mastery of presentation skills• Proficiency in SF.COM and CPQ preferred• Analytical, organized, and process driven• Ability to work within and navigate a matrix organizationJob Specific Requirements:For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
