Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Document Proofreading Specialist is responsible for proofreading documents to ensure an error-free product consistent with firm standards.Job Duties• Compares financial statements and performs all calculations to ensure data is accurate in accordance with BDO guidelines• Proofreads financial statements, reports, proposals and other written materials for accuracy and consistency in text• Ensures financial relationships between statements are correct• Reviews reports for content, grammatical and spelling errors and omissions, and makes required corrections• Examines written materials for conformity with BDO format and ensure each document has been routed through proper review(s) and appropriate approval steps• Participates in the training of new employees in department• Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities• N/AEducationQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• High school diploma, GED or equivalent requiredExperience• Two (2) years or more of experience as a proofreader, required• Experience in a professional service firm, preferredLicense/Certifications• N/ASoftware• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite requiredLanguage• N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Knowledge of business terminology and strong business acumen• Capable of typing at least 40 WPM• Solid verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in editing and utilization of current grammar and written style practices• Strong organizational skills• Able to meet project deadlines with a focus on details• Capable of adapting communication style to successfully convey messaging and objectives to diverse audiences in a professional mannerIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.California Range: $24.04/hr - $26.45/hrColorado Range: $24.04/hr - $26.45/hrNYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $24.04/hr - $26.45/hrWashington Range: $24.04/hr - $26.45/hrWashington DC Range: $24.04/hr - $26.45/hrAbout UsJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
