Benefits Manager
Job Summary:
As the Benefits Manager, you are the go-to person for all things benefits related. Your primary focus will be on the daily administration of all Health & Welfare plans and 401(k) plan. You will interact with employees, vendors and other internal clients (Accounting, Payroll, HR).
What you will do:
- Own the administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability programs, health and flexible savings accounts, 401(k) and any other benefits offerings.
- Respond to employee HR benefits inquiries in a professional and timely manner, providing information and assistance
- Verify insurance billing and audit reconciliation of carrier reports, benefit accounts and disbursements.
- Maintain, manage, and produce records, reporting, compliance, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Fully manage the annual open enrollment process, including plan implementation/changes and the development/distribution of communication materials
- Act as a liaison with benefits brokers, vendors, insurance carriers, to ensure proper administration of the plan.
- Assist with communicating benefit plans and programs, policy features, enrollment and other requirements to employees to ensure understanding
- Tracking and coordination of all Leaves of Absences (FMLA, ADA, Parental etc)
- Manage the 401k annual audit, non-discrimination testing, and 5500 process
- Assess programs for opportunities on enhancement and efficiencies.
What we want you to have:
- Hands on experience in US benefits administration in a complex, multi-state organization
- Ability to listen well, comprehend and analyze situations
- Resourcefulness, in research and problem solving.
- Success Developing effective relationships across the company
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA , ADA and state leave requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with HRIS benefits modules; experience with UKG a plus
- Self is a fully hybrid work culture. Our HR team works together in the office at least one day a week, so we're looking for someone based in the Austin, TX area to join us.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Eight+ years of experience administering benefits programs in growing, complex businesses required.
- CEBS, CBP, PHR certification helpful
- Experience with UKG Ready preferred
