Position Summary:
Serves as a subject matter expert in handling all responsibilities related to group insurance coverage and wellness program. Exercises discretion and independent judgment, when necessary. Reports directly to the Manager of Benefits & Wellness. Works closely with the Human Resources Department and interacts frequently with all Directors, Managers, Administrative and Legal staff to provide excellent customer service to the NY, DC and foreign offices of the Firm when applicable.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive wellness program. They will research, analyze, and evaluate wellness plans, manage vendor relationships, facilitate the development of benefits communications, and support other activities of the Benefits team as needed.
- Develop and recommend strategies to improve health and wellbeing of employees, including increased utilization and program design. Evaluate the impact of wellness activities on plans and report related savings.
- Function as a liaison between benefits/insurance vendors and employees/partners for our benefit programs including ensuring benefit enrollments for New Hires, Life Event changes, HSA contribution changes, and Status Changes are captured and implemented in a timely manner.
- Perform benefits data and benefits plan auditing (eg: enrollment, eligibility, premium contributions, etc.) on a monthly basis for compliance with Plan document.
- Reconcile monthly benefits vendor invoices for processing.
- Manage the leave administration process -FMLA, STD, and other leave requests that involves interacting with the employees, carriers, other functional departments, etc.
- Conduct the benefits orientations for all newly hired legal and administrative staff including updates to the presentation materials to ensure accuracy.
- Process benefit enrollment and termination paperwork related to legal and administrative staff.
- Manage employee/Partner benefits problem resolution by liaising with insurance carriers and brokers.
- Responsible for benefits compliance such as government filings, ACA Form 1095C, etc.
- Monitor the internal benefits portal (intranet) to ensure documents and benefit programs are up-to-date.
- Assist in the administration of annual open enrollment for health & welfare plans and any special projects.
- Compile and maintain benefits records and documents for the processing of Workers’ Compensation filings.
Qualifications:
Education: College degree preferred.
Experience: At least five years of related work experience
Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, professional level staff, and peers. Ability to act in a professional manner and with a high degree of integrity at all times. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and work with highly confidential information. Must be able to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines. Ability to use independent judgment, problem solve, and answer questions. Familiarity with various software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS and use of the Internet. All positions require punctuality and regular attendance.
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
New York Salary Range
$85,000—$98,000 USD
