Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking a Benzene Product Manager to join the Petrochemicals organization in the Woodlands, TX headquarters location. The Benzene Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the business strategy for the benzene business, including profit and loss responsibilities. Job duties include developing and executing sales plan, managing customer relationships, coordinating production and logistics, inventory management and financial closing. The Benzene Product Manager position is located at Headquarters, in The Woodlands TX.

Responsibilities

Business Management

  • Review, understand and drive performance of product line
  • Develop strategy, budget plans and presentations
  • Work with financial analyst to produce monthly profit forecasts
  • Develop base pricing forecasts
  • Coordinate with the plant on the development of capital budgets and supporting economics for payout projects
  • Support evaluation of Aromax® technology opportunities

Responsibilities (continued)

Product Management

  • Develop global contract strategy for benzene
  • Serve as sales / purchase contact for North American benzene customers, suppliers, and exchange partners
  • Lead negotiation efforts for contracts with key customers /suppliers
  • Execute the sales/purchase strategy to support Pascagoula and Port Arthur production plans

Asset Management

  • Review capital stewardship plans for Pascagoula facility Aromax® plant
  • Develop sales and operations plan for Pascagoula facility, including coordination of feedstock supply plans with Pascagoula Chemical Ops Manager
  • Optimize utilization of storage tanks and barge fleet

Responsibilities (continued)

Operational Excellence

  • Demonstrates visible Safety and D&I leadership
  • Supports operational excellence and process improvement efforts across all assets while further supporting cost optimization in manufacturing and supply chain
  • Lead efforts on behalf of benzene with the Petrochemicals Product Risk Management Team
  • Work with Pascagoula plant resources to maintain efficient and optimal plant operation
  • Lead and coordinate the research and technical support around Aromax® technologies as well as support and approval of all things relative to the manufacture and sales of proprietary Aromax® catalyst

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Science related field
  • Minimum of 6 years industry experience
  • Excellent teamwork and communications skills
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiating skills & Commitment to customer focus
  • A high capability for self-management/self-initiative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Petrochemicals knowledge and experience
  • Previous Sales/Commercial experience
  • MBA
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience in SAP, PowerBI, Vendavo, and transaction processes
  • Knowledge of CPChem key products, markets and manufacturing facilities
