Site Reliability Engineer

As the Site Reliability Engineer, you will use your expertise to build, maintain and scale Current Health’s internal and customer-facing services. Day-to-day, you’ll be working cross-functionally from within SRE to various other teams including Software Engineering teams, InfoSec, and QA/RA.This is fully remote from the UK.What you’ll doAs a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be hands-on in building, maintaining and scaling Best Buy Health's (Current Health’s) internal and customer-facing services. This will include:• Improving and maintaining the availability, performance, security, and scalability of the platform• Build new and maintain existing platform infrastructure through the use of Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, CI/CD, and custom tooling.• Working with software engineering teams on new system designs or rearchitecting existing services to meet new requirements• Providing education, documentation, support, and tooling to enable the software engineering teams to take full ownership of their services from inception, through development, to production operationsBasic qualifications• Associate's degree, Coding Bootcamp/code school certification OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience• 1 year of relevant professional experiencePreferred Qualifications• Some commercial experience in AWS services, Linux, networking, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and managing distributed systems.• Development experience in at least one modern high-level programming language (eg. Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go)• An ability to methodically tackle problems with some unknowns and work within the larger team• Perform cost optimisation activities to right-size our AWS Estate to meet your patient needs while helping us stay profitable.• Working with software engineering teams to comment on and be opinioned about new system designs or rearchitecting existing services• Help provide 24/7 support for the product, resolving live issues when needed.What’s in it for youWe’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
