Lead Software Engineer I, Frontend

Members of Best Egg’s Engineering and Enterprise Architecture team partner with key stakeholders, including consumers, marketers, CX researchers, and problem advocates across the enterprise to optimize short- and long-term value streams. Encouraged by our healthy technology risk appetite we expedite feature development using techniques such as feature toggles and multi-variate testing with an aim to maximize learning opportunities and better meet consumer’s needs. Lead Software Engineer I, Frontend will be empowered to deliver a cohesive, adaptable user and agent experience, driving enhanced conversions and user satisfaction across all products for Best Egg. In this role, you will work as an individual contributor with 80% of your time hands-on coding, collaborating with other frontend engineers to drive projects with product owners, analyze requirements, and implement solutions

• Demonstrate an execution-focused mindset to successfully deliver frontend features. Take ownership of tasks and proactively identify and escalate any blockers that may hinder progress. Provide estimations for your work to ensure realistic planning and timely delivery. Ensure that the implementation aligns with the project's requirements and UX designs.
• Take responsibility for conducting thorough unit tests, participating in user acceptance testing (UAT), and providing support during production validation testing (PVT). Additionally, be prepared to assist in resolving production incidents whenever necessary.
• Strong communication skills as an engineer to foster effective collaboration within the product team. Emphasize the importance of clear and concise documentation, including figma, readme files and design documents, as essential components of communication. Proactively engage in verbal communication, actively listening and asking questions to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and expectations. Leverage communication tools and platforms (Slack, Github, JIRA, and other tools) effectively to facilitate seamless information sharing and collaboration.
• Consistently adhere to and promote good engineering practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Demonstrate a strong commitment to code quality, including following coding standards, employing best practices, and writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team. Implement robust testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing, to validate the functionality and reliability of software solutions

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in delivering customer-facing frontend applications.
• Proven experience as a Lead Frontend Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Angular and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Extensive experience in UI development and design principles.
• Extensive experience with NgRx and client-side state management.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration.
• Familiarity with web authentication.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD, python are plus
