Members of Best Egg’s Engineering and Enterprise Architecture team partner with key stakeholders, including consumers, marketers, CX researchers, and problem advocates across the enterprise to optimize short- and long-term value streams. Encouraged by our healthy technology risk appetite we expedite feature development using techniques such as feature toggles and multi-variate testing with an aim to maximize learning opportunities and better meet consumer’s needs. We enjoy applying a wide range of tools and techniques to formulate solutions and innovations. The Job: The Lead Software Engineer I develops back-end software in support of the Best Egg Financial Health platform. Best Egg Financial Health is a judgment-free, financial safe space where customers share and receive practical insights to understand how the financial decisions they make will impact their access to money. You will work with a highly talented and growing team to revolutionize how customers interact with credit and shape their own financial future by developing data visualizations, forecasting tools, and budgeting recommendations based on data science!

• 3+ years experience as a backend software engineer, specifically J2EE Java and Spring Boot
• Understanding of microservices patterns and architectures
• Experience using Amazon/AWS services such as S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, etc.
• Solid understanding of working within an agile development team, comfortable working with lead engineers, and developing high-level documentation
• Strong foundation in developing and deploying RESTful services

• Experience in SQL, data modeling and querying
• GraphQL expertise
• Experience with Python and the Django framework
• Familiarity with containerization, Docker, and Helm
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Serverless
