This role plays a crucial role in supporting the sales and account management teams by partnering with a VP or RVP to drive additional focus on high-potential/high-value accounts. This role is purposely far ranging and reactive to the strategy of the regional team. You will be asked to support anything from executing the territory marketing engagement strategy and deep account research, to supporting decentralized programs by growing our networks in key accounts and building relationships to incubate new opportunities - then manage their sale and delivery. This role is a key player in our go-to-market teams to support our experienced account managers and account executives drive forward our scaled Enterprise partnerships. You will play a key part in improving our sales efficiency, enhancing customer engagement, and driving overall sales growth.
What you’ll do:
Support Account Strategy and Growth
Work with Senior Account Managers ‘AM’ (customer side) and Account Executives ‘AE’ (new business side) and your Regional Vice President to target and develop HRBP and Director level relationships in key accounts, seeking out opportunities for smaller (typically $5-100k) tactical expansions, and building our understanding of key accounts, finding insight to support the partnership strategy
Own expansion and renewal targets for named accounts working under a senior AM/AE, typically this will be supporting a decentralized buying motion where your AE/AM will focus on the pursuit of a broader enterprise strategic sale
Develop new relationships in strategic accounts through prospecting, networking, and partnership with BetterUp marketing team
Support processing and launching smaller orders within established accounts, including leading day-to-day relationships with regional and divisional partner contacts
Generate and Nurture De-centralized Customer Relationships
Serve as a primary point of contact to project manage and execute regional and divisional orders in large accounts
Support in driving member engagement and demonstrable results
Own research activities for our strategic clients and prospects including data collection, data organization, and data enrichment
Develop and run sequences to support Territory demand generation, including collaboration with Marketing and Sales enablement to create campaign content
Internal Relationship Building and Management
Ability to be adaptable and support regional go-to-market teams across a variety of initiatives, from pre-sales to post-sales
Expert level internal cross-functional collaboration
Work with the marketing, pre-sales, post-sales, customer success, implementation and finance and accounting teams to ensure optimal communications and alignment including collaboration on account strategy, account opportunities, stakeholder identification, member utilization and adoption. Has the ability to keenly listen to the client and identify risks and opportunities with members and swiftly communicate to the BU account team and key internal stakeholders to own exceptional end-to-end execution for the partner
If you have some or all of the following, please apply:
Minimum of 4 years sales or account management experience, with 2+ years of Mid-Market or Enterprise consultative selling, even better if you have experience within consulting
Experience running sales processes at Fortune 5000+ Companies
Experience selling to Director level+, even better if it’s in the Talent and Development field/have been in an organisation that sell into CHRO and Heads of L&D/Talent/Transformation work (ideal, not required)
Experience with sales processes like MEDDIC, Challenger, and/or Sandler
Track record of over-achieving, consistently ranking in the top 10-20% of the company
Experience personally working with FTSE100 organisations, on large strategically significant accounts with $1M+ ARR
An unrelenting drive to learn, succeed and lead by example
Strong executive presence, compelling written and verbal communication
High emotional intelligence (EQ) that drives empathy, strong influence, negotiation, and problem-solving
Process-driven, meticulously organized and self-motivated
Technical proficiency and specifically skilled using Salesforce to manage sales cycles, ideally you’ll have broader experience using scaled sales and account management tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, LeadIQ and Cognism, UserGems, and Gong to identify and qualify potential prospects.
Ability to adapt and iterate on your ways of working to lean into critical work in a startup-scaleup selling environment

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $52k – $78k.
