Assistant Vice President, Accounting Systems Administrator

The Accounting Systems Administrator is responsible for all aspects of system administration for Yardi and related systems. As a member of the Financial Systems group within the Information Technology Department, this position works closely with the Accounting, Property Management, and Audit teams.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Currently the accounting software for Residential Accounting, Commercial Accounting (Saul Centers and Office/Industrial), Hotel Accounting, Trust Accounting, and Corporate Accounting
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Yardi: field questions and problems in use of software from all users, provides Yardi solutions for accounting needs.
  • Responsible for training new hires and employees on the functionality of the system
  • Spearheads conversion efforts in terms of coordination with users
  • Assists in upgrade of Yardi software, analyzing enhancements and their effect on our accounting environment
  • Provide ongoing improvement of support processes
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and document business applications, reports, and SQL queries
  • Active in being the business analyst in new programming efforts
  • Provides quarterly user access review documentation to division controllers
  • Responsible for coordination of the IT audit and being the single source of contact for the auditors. This includes the interim testing, providing documentation to the auditors and coordinating our responses to the audit request list for both the interim and final audit
  • Active in maintaining the IT Audit SharePoint site by categorizing IT monitoring documents and documents that require approvals


Job Requirements - Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • High level of interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective facilitation and coaching skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team
  • Effectively multi-task in order to manage a variety of projects concurrently


Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field required
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in a real estate environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Yardi or comparable accounting/property management software (e.g. MRI, RealPage)
  • Intermediate or higher Excel proficiency
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. MS SQL) and/or reporting/business intelligence platforms is a plus
