Director of Platforms

The Biden for President campaign (BFP)  is in search of a Director of Digital Platforms to lead our efforts in leveraging our Principals’ voices, amplifying our core messages and creating community with our supporters. This will include managing the President’s campaign social platform strategy across Facebook, Instagram (Reels/Threads), YouTube, Snapchat, X, TikTok, and more. This role is instrumental in shaping our online presence, ensuring alignment with President Biden’s voice and values while pioneering innovative strategies to engage diverse audiences across digital platforms. 


If you’re passionate about leveraging digital media to advance political goals and have a knack for strategic leadership in the social media realm, we want to hear from you. This position reports to the Head of Social Communications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for managing the campaign’s social media accounts and campaign properties, such as @JoeBiden.
  • Lead and oversee the platforms managers and associates who are responsible for maintaining and optimizing content on digital platforms.
  • Draft and copy edit social media plans. 
  • Create and manage a robust social media calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery across platforms.
  • Drive engagement efforts across social media channels and foster connections with key audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Social Communications, Rapid Response, Video and Design teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Develop and implement communication protocols to effectively address challenges and maintain the integrity of the campaign’s digital presence.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in digital media, integrating innovative approaches into our digital strategy.
  • Establish clear goals and metrics for evaluating the performance and impact of our digital platforms. 
  • Manage a reporting process to track progress and communicate results to internal stakeholders.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Five to six years or three election cycles of experience in digital media, social media management, marketing, or related fields, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
  • Expert understanding across all major social media platforms and digital trends, with a data-driven approach to driving engagement and growth.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a sharp eye for catching typos and ensuring accuracy in digital content creation and management.
  • Deep appreciation for President Biden’s voice and values, coupled with a strategic mindset for translating them into digital content.
  • Experience managing teams and leading digital initiatives in high-pressure environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in digital analytics tools and metrics, with the ability to derive actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Be a team player! 
  • Willingness to relocate to Wilmington, DE.

$120,000 - $135,000 a year
