Incident Response Lead

The Biden For President Campaign is seeking an Incident Response Lead to manage and coordinate the incident response process, further evolving our incident response plans, conducting risk assessments, establishing procedures, leading workstreams, and ensuring timely and effective resolution of any incidents. You will also act as incident commander, collaborating with various internal stakeholders, performing post-incident analysis and reporting, and making continuous improvements to the campaign’s security incident response plan.


The Incident Response Lead will work on the Security team which is responsible for ensuring consistent evaluation and improvement of our cybersecurity posture across the organization and broader ecosystem. More broadly, the IT & Security department is responsible for standing up and maintaining a robust technology infrastructure while safeguarding our valuable information assets.  We are looking for candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.


Key Responsibilities
  • IR Planning - Evaluating and enhancing campaign incident response plans, security policies, and training procedures for security incidents
  • Conducting assessments - Performing cyber security risk assessments and security audits
  • Establishing procedures - Developing clear protocols for incident detection, response, and resolution
  • Leading the response - Coordinating and directing all aspects of the incident response effort, including identification, containment, and eradication
  • Collaborating with stakeholders - Working with internal stakeholders and developing communication and escalation channels as needed
  • Analyzing and reporting - Performing post-incident analysis and reporting, and making improvements to the security incident response function


Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in leading Security Incident Response 
  • Existing experience with log analysis (e.g. first or third party applications, system / data access, event logs), network security, digital forensics, and incident response investigations
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing and responding to security events, such as conducting log analysis, developing queries and analytics, troubleshooting security issues, and correlating complex data sets.
  • Proficiency with developing and using novel analytical methods to automate response processes


$95,000 - $120,000 a year
