Our interns don't run errands - they're here to make a real impact at the company! As a BAF Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of the Big Ass Fans Engineering team. In this role, you will evaluate our new product's performance in various operating conditions by developing and executing performance tests for new product development projects. In your first week, you'll dive into an exciting project you'll work on throughout your internship. At the end, you'll get to present your findings and recommendations to BAF executives. We'll provide a supportive, fast-paced environment focused on learning; you bring your attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities
- Support the development and testing of new fan products.
- Assist in the development of new product designs by reviewing sketches, descriptions, specifications, and supporting documents.
- Provide assistance in developing test procedures and methodologies for new technology evaluation.
- Work with Program Managers in CFT meetings to track tasks and progress within projects.
- Prepare test plans for physical testing to confirm/validate design.
- Provide assistance in verifying that designs are in compliance with relevant codes and standards; including EMC requirements.
- Provide assistance in constructing and evaluating prototypes.
- Interface with Program Managers, Quality, and Manufacturing personnel as required to communicate project status.
Requirements
- Pursuant of a mechanical, electrical, or industrial bachelor’s degree
- Self-motivated and directed
- Willingness to be a contributing member of a team
- Proficient with Google software suite
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing
- Willingness to go on a scissor lift 60' above floor
- Must be able to work 1st shift
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, non-repetitive
- Able to work in a mixed environment of office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments
- Preferred Skills include:
- Familiarity with Solidworks
- Knowledge of industrial AC power systems
- Knowledge of 3D printing systems (Raise 3D)
