About the role:

Reporting directly to the Billing Supervisor, the Billing Specialist I will be responsible for managing the billing cycle as it pertains to our freight customers. This includes auditing of specific documentation and fees, and delivery of final invoices.

Responsibilities:

Verification and auditing of shipping documents to the data in the Transportation Management System to ensure accurate invoicing of freight bills.
Analyze & validate additional fees to ensure accuracy and obtain proper approvals as dictated by the billing requirements.
Comprehension of written billing requirements for accurate billing.
Partner and collaborate with internal & external teams to collect relevant billing information and approvals when needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy self-starter with a deep understanding of billing processes and a passion for growth
1-3 years of relevant experience required
Experience working in a high-volume industry
Must have above average written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations with a professional and calming demeanor
Outstanding organizational, time management, & prioritization skills.
High level of accuracy & attention to detail
Proficient with MS Office and MS Excel
Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement in a team environment
