Position Summary

Serves as a liaison to patients scheduled for virtual visits to ensure the patient has everything in place to have a successful visit with their provider, reviews technology requirements, and best practices for a successful virtual visit.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor future schedules for patients booked for virtual visits. Responsible for ensuring the patient has all necessary requirements completed prior to the date of the appointment. Act as a liaison for the patient and family to guide them through the MyChart sign up process for patient and proxy accounts.
  • Take incoming calls from patients calling into the Virtual Visit main line. Make outgoing calls to patients who have scheduled virtual visits to complete reminders, evaluate their readiness for the virtual visit, help troubleshoot technology issues, and provide further assistance to ensure a successful visit. Assist with other patient reminder calls as needed.
  • Provide patient scheduling services to include making appointments, collecting demographics and insurance registration.
  • File electronic referral records into patient charts. Obtain additional records from the referring provider and/or patient if necessary.
  • Serve as a point person on the date of the appointment for patients, clinic staff, and providers having difficulties with accessing a virtual visit. Inform patients if providers are running late for their virtual visit
  • Assist with Department initiatives to convert visits from in person to virtual during high risk time periods.
  • Work to boost the overall number of Neurology patients with active MyChart accounts.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPIC EMR and Scheduling background.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and working knowledge of insurance and financial options.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft office including Excel and Word.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification with three years of experience in billing systems and third-party claims and/or experience in a medical office setting or related customer service/office experience.

Grade

G06-H

Salary Range

$17.14 - $25.70 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
