ROLE DESCRIPTION & KEY DELIVERABLES
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of all EHS programs across our facilities. This position involves designing, implementing, and overseeing environmental health and safety policies and procedures that comply with all regulatory requirements and company values, ensuring the well-being of employees and minimizing environmental impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies and programs in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead safety risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Ensure proper environmental management, including waste disposal, pollution control, chemical storage & handling, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage site-specific safety programs, conduct training, and create an environment that prioritizes safe and sustainable work practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives for safety and environmental performance.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess risks and ensure compliance with company EHS standards, government regulations, and all applicable operating permits.
- Partner with operations teams to integrate EHS practices into daily operations and decision-making processes.
- Track, analyze, and report key EHS metrics, driving data-based improvements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and stakeholders on matters related to environmental health and safety.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Support the facility management of change (MOC) process and participate in all Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).Support daily Job Hazard Analysis and mentor front line employees to improve hazard identification and risk management.
- Stay current with industry trends and changing regulations related to EHS.

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred. Additional relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience managing EHS programs, ideally within industrial or energy sectors. Experience in the waste industry, oil and gas or renewable energy is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental health and safety.
- Experience with risk management, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- EHS certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- STRONG ODOR. We use the anaerobic digestion process to convert organic food waste to energy.
- Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time. Mobility to stand, sit, walk, stoop, twist, bend, climb ladders, crawl, balance, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

$110,000 - $135,000 a year
