Duties

• Discuss the scope and objectives of the research project with the research scientist.
• Locate and review the literature pertinent to the project to identify the most applicable protocols and methods.
• Perform experiments in accordance with approved methods and procedures.
• Advise the scientist on the time and resources required to perform each experiment and participates in the establishment of plans.
• Critically analyze results of experiments to determine whether data generated are accurate and valid.
• Develop methods for and collects, organizes and records experimental data in a form suitable for publication and future reference by others.
• Assemble data in both tabular (i.e., tables, graphs, charts) and narrative form, noting any inconsistencies or areas where the data appear inconclusive.
• Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the research laboratory.
