Senior Process Optimization Engineer

Summary:

The Senior Process Optimization Engineer will lead and support process optimization strategies and resolve operational issues in various environments, including operations, manufacturing, pilot plant, and capital projects. This position applies advanced engineering principles to design, implement, and troubleshoot major system modifications and capital projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and experience in managing complex engineering projects across multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Engineering:
• Complete complex assignments, developing new or enhanced engineering techniques and procedures.
• Develop engineering policies and procedures impacting multiple organizational units.
• Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of engineers, associates, and technicians.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques within specific expertise and across disciplines.
• Act as a recognized engineering technology specialist, determining methodologies within specialized areas.
• Design Engineering:
• Develop innovative technical solutions to complex issues using creativity and analytical thinking.
• Collaborate with research, manufacturing, utilities, facilities, and quality assurance to implement complex system/facility modifications.
• Partner with project managers to ensure timely and quality completion of design and engineering projects within budget constraints.
• Oversee consultants, architects, and engineering firms in the development of standard design documents.
• Manage project budgets across multiple disciplines for specific areas or entire smaller projects.

• Leadership and team-building experience, including managing contractors and vendors.

Education:

• Doctorate in Engineering OR
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in technical report writing, process investigations (deviations, complaints, CAPA), and inspection technology.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical/biotech processes, validation processes, and GMP/GLP documentation in regulated environments.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot specialized lab and production equipment.

Shift:

• 8 hours | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 5 days a week
