Product Designer

🚀 Your mission at Birdie

We’re searching for a Product Designer who is excited to make an impact in the social care space. We need somebody who wants to work on a complex product, is excited about growing as a designer, and wants to be a part of small, tight-knit design team (and reporting directly to the Head of Product Design!).

🧑‍💻 On a day-to-day basis you will…

  • Partner with your squad’s product and engineering counterparts to continually refine an impactful vision for the product you will be working on

  • Collaborate with your cross-functional squad to deliver product features that solve key problems for our customers and increase our speed of learning

  • Build prototypes and run experiments to test your hypotheses to ensure our products are continuously delighting our users

  • Conduct user research and be responsible for sharing our user empathy with your colleagues and the broader company

  • Write and edit copy for new and existing features, ensuring consistency across the product at-large

  • Contribute to our larger design efforts to improve quality and ensure a consistent and beautiful branded experience across all our products (mobile and web)

💖 About you

  • You empathise with our user and are excited to design products that can make a real difference to the care of older adults

  • You are able to justify and clearly articulate your design decisions and strive to do so in clear and simple terms that others will understand

  • You relish the opportunity to work on ambiguous and complex problems. You get satisfaction from finding clarity within complexity

  • You check your ego at the door and are always keen to incorporate ideas from across the organisation to design products everyone can be proud of

  • You know when to advocate for quality and when to be pragmatic to get projects over the finish line and into the hands of our customers

  • You love to make design accessible and open to all, and enjoy collaborating and learning from design peers
