Requirements:

Education: High School Graduate.

Skills: Preferred knowledge of medical terminology. Computer skills for detailed data entry required. Bilingual preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in healthcare preferred.

Certification: N/a


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Addresses patients, visitors, family members, and co-workers in a pleasant, friendly and respectful manner
  • Functions as a courier for the Unit, when necessary
  • Assists patients with requests that pertain to clerical functions i.e.: telephone, TV request
  • Assists director, manager and clinical coordinator with clerical tasks as needed
  • Accurate data entry of specific and required patient clinical information
  • Timely completion of birth records as required by the state of New Jersey
  • Transcribes into the computer all statistical Electronic Birth Certificate data for the Vital Statistics Office
  • Assesses charts routinely to assure that all EBC modules are corrected, completed, and followed up with the State
  • Acts as a liaison to the City of Teaneck’s birth certificate office
  • Responds to all telephone calls related to Birth Certificate and Infant Social Security Number issues
  • Completes daily clerical work assignments by the end of the assigned shift without interference to the quality of work and gives pertinent information to appropriate leader
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
