In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from QuickTake to reinventing live events. Bloomberg is expanding its audio offerings and looking for an experienced podcast story editor to work on an ambitious daily podcast focused on the economy, the world, and enterprise business news. The story editor will work on this show in collaboration with a larger audio team and alongside reporters and editors in Bloomberg's wider newsroom. They will work under the guidance of an Executive producer. This role will be project based, and there will be opportunity to work across other shows in the Bloomberg Podcast portfolio. This opening is for a story editor candidate with ideally 7 years of experience on reported, narrative shows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead story edits on episodes (multiple episodes per week)
- Able to bring episode through fruition from the first draft to the final draft while collaborating with producers at a fast pace Guide story structure, episode shaping, and episode prep working with the producer
- Edit multiple scripts at once for various episodes across production pods Helping generate and solicit daily story ideas in collaboration with the Executive Producer, producers and broader newsroom slate
- Helping have a pulse on the biggest stories in business news and general news on a daily basis Pitching episode and guest ideas Helping manage the long-term editorial calendar
- Can edit for sensitivity and quality concerns
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Worked in a newsroom environment or on projects with rigorous journalistic ethics Familiarity with production tasks Audio Story editing experience on a narrative podcast project Demonstrated interest in covering business news
- Experience in Descript, Audition and Google Docs Excellent news judgment Sharp editorial ear

Salary Range: 50 - 75 USD Hourly
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
